Happy Mother's day!
Happy Mother's day to all mothers (young, old and would-be). May your children remember you and love you always! May all the mothers shower their love on their children and all children, particularly on those who don't have one. In this connection, I spent some time and compiled a list of lullabies and other mother-child songs from many languages. Add to this your own selection and if any link does not work, please inform me and I will make the necessary corrections.

JKM sir, there are also other lullabies which can be added to here- These are the usual lullabies that I sing for my son (poor boy, he had to go thru all these things. ha ha ha)
a) Omana thingal kidavo (this is a famous malayalam lullaby which was written by the paternal uncle of Trivandrum Raja Swathi thirunaal, to be sung by his mother when Swathi thirunaal was born, as he was the only boy child in the family after a long time. The Britishers were about to take over the ruling power of trivandrum from the kingdom saying that they don't have any son to inherit the kingdom. That time Swathi thirunaal was born and the ruling power vested back with the Raja's family. So he was a special child for that family)
b) Ambaadi thannil ore unni (Malayalam song)
c) Aaayarpadi maligaiyil thai madiyil Kanrinai pol (Tamil SOng)
d) Tamil version of vaTapatraSAyiki varahAla lAli - Varam thantha Samiki vadhamaana laali

In the additions to the list, can you identify the child's voice in the song jojo laali naa haaDuve? For those who know immediately the answer, could you wait sometime to give a chance to the others? kesarina kamala (having the song nagu nI nagu) is one of the few kalpana movies I haven't watched. Another one of her movies I would love to watch is mukti (based on the novel SApa). One of the songs I love in that movie is yAravaru yAravaru yAravaru yArO, bAgilali baMdavau niMdavaru yArO?
