Dot count?

Somebody, please make a guess for the next dot grid regarding making your own dotted designs. (I think a couple of our members had already taken a turn).

Hi lata, just this morning i was thinking why haven't lata started the next assignment. I could see two or three kolams in today's upload with 21 - 1 dots. Why don't we start with that?

Julien, try reducing your file size and resize the picture and then upload. Last few days I too faced the same problem and I did the same thing what I suggested you. I was then able to upload the pictures.

Often there is space problem. For regular users u can give more "space".
After wasting time in uploading, at the end only we find that we are out of space. Is there anyway to know that well in advance?

Yes, for members who upload rangolis often, we monitor the storage a few times a week to make sure they have adequate space to upload successfully. But, if the file size itself is beyond a certain size, it doesn't get uploaded successfully. There are some of our active users who repeatedly upload files that are more than 1500 pixels wide. Also, it hasn't been easy for me to convey that the rangoli doesn't upload because it is bigger than it is supposed to be, whereas the account in itself is indeed capable of accommodating 5 or 6 more rangolis.

It might help to follow this procedure to learn about how big the image is after loading it from the camera (assuming it is digital). Instead of uploading directly to the rangoli queue, you could open up the file in a program like Photoshop (or any image editing software program). Go to "Image, Image size" and change the value in the "width" to be around anywhere between 500 to 700 pixels. You'll see that this step reduces the file size considerably, which should enable one to upload it in the queue successfully.
I hope members take a moment to check the file size in advance whenever they run into trouble while uploading. Smile
