SB Rangoli made by me today for Karthikai month. Stencil design is used in centre while rest of the design is freehand.

Happy and Prosperous Diwali to all ikolam members. An SB Rangoli made by me today for Diwali. Took 1 hour to make - started at 6.30 pm and ended at 7.35 pm. I have combined stencil and freehand design. Hope you like it. Added the red rays later.

Did this "Sanskar Bharati" rangoli yesterday, 10.08.2012 in my office for Janmashtami.
1. Referred to the design book for rangoli and combined 2 designs for the Hridaya Kamal pattern as well as the sanskar bharati designs.
2. Made the outline of rangoli with chalk and then fileld the colours. Started with the inside circle and did the outer circle after finishing the inner one.
3. Used rangoli powder and mixed them with white rangoli powder. Spread the rangoli using tea strainer or "channi" to achieve an even texture.
4. Put the Hridaya Kamal pattern by hand while the curves and Sanskar Bharati designs by rangoli pen.
Time taken - Started at 2.30 p.m. and ended at 5 p.m. So, totally it took 2.5 hrs to make this rangoli. Hope you all like it. Would like your comments.

Shiva rangoli with Sanskar Bharathi borders, got to see this in one of the temple on a Mandala pooja. Wanted to do this in real for last Karthika Monday, but work & time constraint left me with only PC version. Hope to do for Shivarathri.
Dot grid 19 X 19....if borders excluded then 13 X 13, add borders as needed.

:bigsmile: LAST WEEK 12/11/2011,we had a diwali dinner(i know it's rather late) at our place.i did this rangoli as a gesture to welcome the guest.thank god i took this photo before the function because almost 500 of them turned up and just imagine wat would have happened at the end of the function
