This is very good for a first attempt. If you don't mind, one or two suggestions; I don't know how you did this. Take one clove, rotate it left, right, upside down and keep each image separately. Then join all these so that the tips are clearly seen. Now you have a foursome, save it. Rotate this by 45 degrees. Now if you place both these, you get eight cloves each making an angle of 45 deg with its next one. Once you have this, save it. Move this basic unit in as many ways as you like to create different patterns. The important thing is - the same basic unit can be arranged in different ways to get different patterns. Some of these will have a higher symmetry and some will have lower symmetry. My congrats to Pavanji too. Regards to the teacher and the pupil :-) - mOhana

Auntie, This clove kolam is very nice. This reminds me of a nice story I would like to share. Last week I had a bad pain on my top back left tooth.I informed about this to Paati. Then she gave me a clove to put it under the painful tooth and press it hard.I did as she said.I kept still for at least an hour Soon the pain went off. So this is the traditional way of curing a toothache!(just a guess) Sahana

my dear Lakshmi can you give me one good reason why i should laugh??? you have done something new that is really worth appreciating.... Pavan you are a good teacher and your student is also clever to grasp what you have taught her... as JKM suggested - always make a basic pattern and then you can turn and connect them however you like - this actually never ends as you keep coming up with newer ideas every time you finish creating a pattern... right na JKM?? Lata i like your smiley...
