Gosh Purni - you are the works!! This reminds me of a sprig of pinecones which I had collected when I went to Mahabs as a kid... I had a lot of coloured silk embroidery thread (my aunt's collection from Aden which she left back for us when she migrated to Australia) which I used to cover the intersections of the pinecones. After I was done this dried sprig looked so colourful and my mum kept this in a flowervase for many years - pity I could not take a photograph (those days owning a camera was a luxury) to show all of you what it looked like, but thank you for refreshing warm memories of mine... My mum also has a unique christmas tree (yipiee christmas is just 4 1/2 months away) - will upload a picture shortly for you all to see :)
