Alpana has come out beautiful, and I also like the border at the top.

Deepa this does not seem to be like what you usually do (not as neat as the others you have done so far). The centre seems stained (from an earlier coloured kolam it seems).. I can see an incomplete border on the top which looks really very cute - why have you not completed it - or was this picture taken before you actually finished??

Dear Judy mam,the top border was so close to the kolam so i left it short, also i made the mistake of colouring the kolam when it was still wet,i mistook my mud floors' compatiability with this cement slope, that villian spoilt my kolam.i learnt the greatness of my muddy floor only then, the following rangolis i took care of it to dry, which soon u could see in ikolam gallery.

Very very beautiful and novel! If you could have put eighteen in the last (instead of 16) it would have been perfect! For hexagonal patterns that is how the layer structures are arranged (1, 6, 12, 18, 24, etc.)

nice paadams Deepaji...quite different from your usual patterns. not sure about bengal, but we represent goddess lakshmi by ashTadaLapadma (8petalled lotus) right? ...so octogonal multiples would be good
...thanks for sharing
