i will be delighted to have u all at my home for the meet.welcome all!!! we came to this area in madurai[gomathipuram, opposite to vandiyur tank i.e yaeri in tamil]almost when i was 12 yrs old.there used to be a sunflower field at the back of our home where we can see parrots.we were remote from the town and transport was the only problem.me,my younger brother, mom everyone learnt driving for this purpose alone.twice the tank broke and we were like srilankan tamils crossed this paddy field and stayed in a local village chief's house and travelled in a lorry to reach the town.frog, toad, snakes, crabs, rats, wild cat, wild rabbit, birds like peacock, cuckoo, crane and many unnamed insects are our frequent guests.earlier all our relatives called us jungle rangers. me and my brother grew up in this lonely area for almost 14 years.because of this thrills which our father created for us by building our sweet home here,we became strong enough to accustom life and swim back its current.now that my brother is serving as a Lieutenant in Indian army, and me doing my research in English literature find life so easy to survive because of this.this lonely place gave us time to think and enjoy nature.though i regret my horror days fearing snakes, now i am used to it and gives me hope to adjust any surroundings.recently there are many homes coming up nearby, which i find enigmatic to this sweet surrounding of us.only consolation is that the owner of this field is the christian missionary and they have no plans to dispose this field.if i write about my childhood days it will a sequel to "malgudi days" by R.K.Narayan.

Very interesting narration Deepa, and thanx for the invitation too! Having grown in such a natural surrounding you have become a strong person both physically and mentally! I can understand the hardships you would have faced when your house was flooded as we too have a tank ('eri') near our house and during rainy seasons we used to live in 'boat-house'! Now the lake is shrunk and the beauty is lost!
