This big rangoli was made by a few students at the Madras University for Pongal Celebrations this year and Anita had clicked a picture on her mobile. Just wanted to share this with all of you. Base materials used were salt with colourpodi. I am sure you will enjoy this.

Pongal is the festival for worshiping the nature like sun, moon & farmland, etc. Today the direction of sun also changing from Dhakshinaya to Uthrayana...Our energy source Soorya Bhaghavan majestically coming around the world in a chariot, that's why in Tamil Nadu people used to make ther kolam on Pongal day. your views please.....
I actually tout of drawing a pongal pot kolam on pongal.. but all in my street will do the same kolam.. so i tout puttin this rangoli.. and i finished it n asked my husband about my kolam.. for him the empty space inside the kolam looked like pongal pot he told wow very innovative, pot inside the rangoli.. its a mere suprise for me and wat a coincidence:-o
Hi i tried this on mattu kolam, actually i was struggling to finish the kolam cause i dont know the exact dots of the kolam. if any one know this kolam please share the dots so that i will try next time.
