Lord Shiva danced in the five ambalams during various occasions. These are places where Lord Shiva danced in different occasions.

• Madurai - Silver hall (veLLiyambalam - rajata sabha)
• ThiruvAlaNkAdu - Gem hall (iraththinasabai - ratna sabha)

Chithambaram - Golden hall (ponnambalam - kanaka sabha)

Chitambaram also called ponnambalam (Golden hall), is the famous temple for Shiva devotees in Tamil Nadu.
Once the great serpent Adhi sEsha felt that mahA vishNu was heavy that time. He asked mahA vishNu the reason. He told him that he remembered the dance, that Lord did once in the presence of all dhEvAs. Due to the pleasure of reminiscence mahA vishNu was heavy. Inspired by this Adhi sEsha wanted to see the dance of the Lord. He came to chitambaram and worshipped the Lord as Pathanychali. VyAghrapAdar, a sage, was also worshipping the Lord to see His dance. VyAghra pAdar got as a boon the legs and eyes of the tiger to claim the trees and see in the dark, so that he can get flowers, fresh, untouched by even bees, before the dawn for the worship. They worshipped the Lord for a long time. To fulfill their desire the Lord appeared on the thiruvAdhirai and danced in the golden hall.

Ireland Navarathri Golu 2013

Navarathri Golu 2013
===================
This year theme - Pancha sabai sthalangal

Nataraja, The Lord of Dance; is a depiction of the god Shiva as the cosmic dancer who performs his divine dance to destroy a weary universe and make preparations for the god Brahma to start the process of creation.
According to Modern Physics, “every subatomic particle not only performs an energy dance, but also is an energy dance; a process of creation and destruction…without end”.
For the modern physicists, then Shiva's dance is the dance of subatomic matter. As in Hindu mythology, it is a continual dance of creation and destruction involving the whole cosmos; the basis of all existence and of all natural phenomena."
Pancha Sabhai Sthala refers to the temples of Lord Nataraja, where he is believed to have performed the Cosmic Dance. Pancha means Five, Sabhai means Hall and Sthala means Place. All these temples are located in Tamil Nadu, India.
• Chidambaram – Porchabai
• Madurai – Vellichabai
• Thiruvalangadu – Rathinachabai
• Tirunelveli – Thamirachabai
• Thirukutralam – Chithirachabai

Navarathri - Pattada Gombe/ Marapachi - Lakshmi Narayana

Had been to a friend's house to see Golu. This unique Pattada Gombe/ Marapachi of Lakshmi Narayana attracted me more. They found this one in their attic while cleaning, could have been very old one, even their parents had forgotten whether they bought it. Also not much decoration so that we can view the original beauty. Do we get any like this in market? Tried searching in Chickpet, but could not find one.

Will add the Golu pics later.
