Fourteen year old Sukanya Roy, studying eighth grade in Pennsylvania, won the National spelling bee championship in the 20th round. Her winning word was cymotrichous. This has been one of the longest spelling bee finals (more than 2 1/2 hours) I watched in years. Regards! - mOhana

Children of Indian origin have scored heavily in the last few years in the spelling bee. They won six times during the last ten years and continuously during the last four years. It only indicates the extraordinary memory and analytical powers they possess. For details go to - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110603/ap_on_re_us/us_spelling_bee and http://public.spellingbee.com/public/results/2011/finishers/html?type=champ .
