Introducing kolam videos
I have created a large collection of animated versions of kolam and rangolis over the years. I have been playing around with creating videos of the process of making kolams and just created couple of videos of some of the simple kolams and added them here: http://www.ikolam.com/video. These videos are hosted at YouTube; you could view them at the ikolam channel at YouTube too.
We plan on adding more videos in the coming months. If you have videos that you would like to share with all the kolam/rangoli fans, please send it to us.

Quite a nice demonstration and learning experience! Is this not called mango leaf rangOli? I remember to have done some thing like this with the actual mango leaves in one of my mango leaf rangOlis.

Thank you Ms.Vini and Mohanaji.
You're right Mohanaji. This is the mango leaf rangoli. When I taught this to a few girls some years ago, their response was that it looked like a "whirly twirly flower". Also, there was no real mango leaf in sight to show and tell (in CA). And so, that's how the name came about (the e in the name was a mistake). I couldn't get back to this file for correctional/additional work.
