Veri Veri...Kolaveri di

So, how many times have you watched this song on Youtube? :) I agree, it is a catchy tune, and the lyrics are hilarious! I bet what you didn't expect to read here is that this song has become a favorite among the Indian American kids as well (kids of all ages - from elementary level to the college kids). :0 The kids have started to "talk" in the Kolaveri stylu here. Whatever little Tamil we'd taught our kids turned into a unique mish-mash of Tanglish. Our kids version is not just the regular Tanglish. It can however be called as an American Indian tanglish style of talk. It is even more hilarious to hear them talk around the house among themselves. No, they haven't yet attempted to talk to their parents in this "new" language since they know that parents are a little slow to catch up and imitate! :) I bet Dhanush would be thrilled to know that he has inspired quite a few kids to "finally" speak in Tamil among their peers here in our part of the world

While it is interesting to watch and listen to this, I am trying to look into the future. Is this how the Indian languages are going to be transformed? Alas, we can not dam the flow of time! Regards! - mOhana
