Short story series - Part 4

Part 4:

What do you mean you won't be coming home tonight? There was a lightning outside the house and Ishi almost dropped the phone. She was very scared of thunder and lightning. She spoke to Ivaan shivering like a poor little lamb, 'Ivaan the weather has turned horrible, I cant stay alone all night. U knw I m scared of thunder and lightning. Please Ivaan Please...the phone went dead and the elctricity went off. Alala came into the room with a burning candle in her hand. Madam you want me to stay or go.

Ishi was so happy to see Alala in the darkness though she looked scary in the candle light there was a softness in her voice which soothed any panicked mind especially Ishi's. Ishi asked her to stay and get Adi from the bedroom. Where could Ivaan be al night? I couldn't even complete my conversation with him. I will call from my mobile. She searched for her mobile which she hardly used..dialled Ivaan's number and waited. No range. She felt like a child n went into her childhood when her father used to stay awake till the electricity returned or till she dozed off. It felt so secure, she knew then tht nothing cud go wrong wen her father is with her!

Thud! She heard somebody or something fall outside. She was too scared to go out and she called out to Alala. Alala dint come. She heard Adi crying and went to the bedroom. Adi was not there! She panicked and started screaming out for Adi and Alala. It was pouring outside and her screams were muffled by the rain. She took a torch and stepped out of the house after gathering much courage. OMG! there cud be eerie repltiles out there, how did Adi go out? She opened the french window from her living room and stepped out in the verandah and then down to the steps. She tripped on something but did not fall. She used the torch to see who it was and saw Alala lying down there. She was having an attack of fits. Adi was sitting next to her crying. She lifted Adi and took him into the house. Tried her mobile to call Mrs Kapoor. No use. She ran back outside, Alala's condition was getting worse, her whole body in convulsion, her mouth frothing and her eyes rolling upwards, it was a horrifying sight to see! Ishi had never seen anything like that. She had heard that holding anything made in iron could stop these convulsions but she did not knw if it was true. She had to act fast as she did not hv time. She ran in and started searching. She wanted to find something that will help Alala. She almost threw things here and there ransacking her own house..finally she was frustated. Taking a cushion, She rushed to Alala who was still in seizures. Her mouth was bleeding as she was biting her tongue...Ishi placed the cushion beneath Alala's head. It was not easy as Alala's body was moving forcefully and Ishi got pushed and hit trying to hold Alala. Within a few seconds Alala's body began to relax and her body went cold. Ishi went pale. Is Alala dead???

Ishi are you alright? wat were you screaming for? What happened to your phone? Mrs Kapoor had come. Ishi ran upto her in the rain and explained the situation to her. Mrs Kapoor rushed to her home to get some assistance. Within minutes there was a small crowd in front of Ishi's house. Medical Emegency Staff had arrived. They carried Alala inside the ambulance and the doctor checked her. He said Alala had a siezure and appreciated Ishi for not doing anything stupid and being with Alala. They took her to the hospital, Ishi had wanted to go too but Mr Kapoor asked to stay back and look after Adi.

Ishi went back to the house. Adi had slept after crying for sometime. Ishi sat next to him on the sofa. She was tired and sleepy. Her whole body was paining and her head was aching too. But she lied down next to Adi and closed her eyes.

Ishi was on a boat in the middle of the sea when she opened her eyes. She looked around for Adi and Ivaan but nobody. She realised that there was no one controlling the boat and she did not know how to. She also dint know swimming! How will I ever get back to the shore?? She panicked..n called out, Maa please help...She heard a voice...Ishi get up...She stood in the boat...Ishi wake up.. ISHI!
Mrs Kapoor was trying to wake her up. Ishi woke up and rubbed her eyes like kids do. She was feeling horrible. Her head was heavy and her body felt sore as she had slept on the sofa and her neck was hurting too.
