Receipe 2 to satisfy our big tom
This recipe I am giving because ammu is not very happy with my tomato chutney .Am I right dear? .
Pirai(turai )-kotambari chutni (Pikankai-kothambri chutni)
INGRAEDIENTS:
Pirai(pikankai) ……250 gm
Kotambari(geen coriander )…..100-150 gm or I bunch
Green chilli …2
Ginger …1cm cube
Coriander dry seeds….half teaspoonful
Jeera dry seedss………..half teaspoonful
Onion ……1 big
Garlic ….2 -3 pods
Tamarind ….one small lemon sized
Jeggery …….20 gm (roughly)
Coconut…….Half
Salt as per the taste.
METHOD:
Boil the pirai in little water and keep it for cooling .scrape the coconut .Add all the above said ingredients including coriander leaves ,boiled pirai and cocnut and grind without adding much water(u can use the left over water from the boiled pirai as it contains the water soluble vitamins ) . serve as it is .This goes very well with rice or dosa .If u want to preserve for days then please fry this chutney with little oil added with rai and kurry leaves .
Note: don’t fry the coriander and jeera seeds it should be added kaccha (as it is )
(I make this kind of chutney to fool my daughter as she hates all these vegetable but likes kotambari chutney, so that I can feed little vegetable to her )

The recipe is too tempting. I think you are an expert in this art as well. I look forward to learning some Bombay sweets and savory recipes for Diwali may be in a month or two from you?
Now the tables have turned and I've stopped asking Big Tom for a sweet recipe! Ha-ha :0
