Laughing Buddha

I'm sure you have a statue of the Laughing Buddha. Laughing Buddha statues depict a smiling or laughing bald man with a largely exposed pot belly stomach, which symbolizes happiness, good luck, and abundance. According to legend, if one rubs the Laughing Buddha's great belly, it brings forth wealth, good luck, and prosperity. I've been trying and trying and trying so hard!! All I got is rugged hands! Did you have any luck? :)

So many myths about laughing Buddha here too! Some people call it 'Kubera', god of wealth. You should not buy one for yourself...It should be gifted by someone else...So, myself and Jayanthi bought one each and exchanged! Like our Ganesha he also comes in many forms!

I definitely understand why he is laughing... obviously if you keep tickling his tummy he is laughing :-) ... Have not tried if it has brought luck ... let me try it the next time I happen to see a statue
