This is the appreciation we gave for the kids at the year end. We made their palm print on one side, made them colour the flowers at the backside, then laminated the sheet. It can be used for years as their own special Table mat.

Wonderful jayantIjI, it is a nice way to encourage the kids. It is also nice to have the finger prints as a safety precaution. I don't know what they do in India. But here, the police take the finger prints and palm prints of the kids on one day and give them to their parents for safe keeping. This is very useful in case the child is lost or, heaven forbid, kidnapped or killed. The teachers also used to take palm prints and cast them in plaster of paris. I have some of these of my kids somewhere. In fact it will be a nice idea if the child's palm prints and foot prints are taken every year and that will serve as a record as to how the child grows!

Nice idea Jayanthi. Our kids have done it many times too, from preschool to kindergarten ages. Also, this is still the most popular Mother's day gift that the preschoolers bring home every year. I have to rummage through my cartons in the garage if I were to upload these type of goodies here . I too have a lot of things to post, back from my teaching-days.
