I remember making pedas a few years back, in a microwave. But I don't have the recipe with me. I found some link that have the recipe very much similar to what I tried:

NANKATAI
Ingredients:
maida ...250gm
besan ...75 gm
rava ...100gm
Sugar ...500gm
Ghee...500gm
elaichi...8-10
Baking powder ..2 small teaspoonfuls
Method:
grind the sugar and keep aside .powder the elachi .Melt the ghee and remove from the stove .now add the sugar in the melted ghee and mix it properly with big spoon.once ready and cool add all the above mentioned other ingredients in it and now make the dough like wheat dough we make for chapati and keep it in room temperature (for fermentation) for 5-6 hours .Now make small samll round laddus out of it and press it to give little flat shape.
Now keep this in the oven tray and keep it in oven for 10-15 minutes at 180 degree Centigrade for baking.
Now your nankatai is ready to eat .Is it not simple? Definitely ur lovely kids will like it
