Lata, Is this the one you mean by 'cayenne pepper'?
This photo was sent by my son from Dallas.
Unlike the usual chillies these face upwards.
In India you get Kashmiri Chillies and Byadgi chillies, long and twisted in shape. They give a deep red colour to the dish/chutney but not as hot as other chillies of India.

Is it the ones which are called Kaanthaari mulagu in Malayalam, which are extremely hot and small in size?
In Malayalam, small kids who talk veduk - veduk, [sorry, these 2 words are Tamil,], are called Kaanthaari, which means, small in size but hot.

What a nice picture! I am not sure if this is cayenne, but I know these chillies as "ornamental peppers". They are sold in flower shops also (not only in plant nurseries). They come in colors of green, red, yellow and orange. They stand upright, and are smaller in size.
Jayanthiji, your comment is so funny
In our place, we address the kids who talk "veduk veduk" as kids who are feisty (and kids with spunk too).
