An exercise for Mrs rANI and items with "muruku"
The kOlam at http://picasaweb.google.com/hshankar/TirunelveliChennaiDec08#5293190117079921602 is a good exercise for chikku kOlam wxperts 
Here is an article and photographs on "The art of making Murukku" at http://lakshmi12.blogspot.com/2010/09/art-of-making-murukku.html . I have never seen so many articles made as muruku. Enjoy!

We had a spate of link spammers who had innundated the site with spammy links, so we had taken some precautions to work around that. Looks like that's the reason for the links getting disabled here.

Thank u jkm sir for that wonderful link on kolam...may be our veni can do justice in replicating a smaller version of that kolam atleast as it is her home town....and thanks for link for d art of making murukkus too...hmm jaya mam and rajamma mam are experts for sure as we all enjoyed their experienced hands at making murukkus....

Thanks for the link JKM sir. My mom and aunty (es) are also good in making kai murukku. I was also practising whenever my mom makes kai murukku in home. But i don't get the perfect shape and twist. Now, after marraige, without my mom's presence, i don't have the confidence in me for making kai murukku. Hence i haven't taken that effort at all. Somehow, i want to learn that art in order to keep up with the tradition.
