MILAGU KUZHAMBU-PEPPER GRAVY
Hai friends...more than anything else the most expected item in our house is this milagu kuzhambu...after eating lots of sweets and oily items...this gravy will make ur diwali complete especially if eaten on diwali night. In a pan with 1 tsp of oil roast 3 red chillies,1 tbsp-coriander seeds, 1 tsp-pepper, 1 tsp-jeera,1 tbsp-channa dhal(kadalai paruppu),one handful of curry patta(karivepilai) and grind into a fine powder with or without water. In the same heavy bottom pan put 3tbsp gingely oil(nalla ennai)...add mustards...let them splutter,10 pods of garlic and when they are brown in colour add the ground powder ...fry it in sim flame, add tamarind extract(about 2-3 cups) from 1 small lemon sized tamarind...add salt to taste, haldi and allow to simmer for 20 minutes...your milagu kuzhambu is ready.
