Take a look at what I've or how little I have to color my rangolis
What you see is bottles of scenic sand, and I buy them for about 3$ a bottle, you can see the size of the bottles (200gms per bottle).
And, my husband's wallet has a big hole in it
I have no patience in making my own colored rice flour either. Hats off to Sahana and her grandma!
Yes Nalini ma'am, ikolam did help us all get in touch with creative souls from many countries who've generously taken the time to share their work and ideas. As far as perspiration goes, Lakshmi keeps me updated with her daily dose of emails
Since my Patti has praised me by her best words,I will appericiate her.My patti is the only reason why my all kolams are beautiful. She is always is correcting my kolams /rangolis and correcting my mistakes. Almost always she comes up with imaginative ideas for me.My interest in ikolam is because seeing paati draw so many kolams or rangolis made me get that wonderful feeling that i could also draw pretty kolams. So,when i asked patti to teach me kolam drawing i felt very happy so my first rangoli was drawn in paper.from there i learnt to draw on the floor.
Thanks to my Paati I would have never learnt kolams neither would I learn to draw neatly!Thank you Paati! Sahana
Good to know about "mom", i kind of had the feeling that "mom" was too easy...
I was going to email you about categorizing the different entries. I'll add a separate folder for Ambigram. I'm open to more ideas/tips, so feel free to either email or comment when you have some time to spare. Thank you.
In the weekend, I plan on making the Gallery section more presentable.
Here I openly want to thank my grand daughter SAHANA. She is the one who helps me right from selecting the design, arranging her table top to space my kolam, making color powder by mixing riceflour with food coloring and drying it, giving suggestions and comments in between, taking photo of the kolam in her camera in all possible angles, uploading them in the computer, sending it to ikolam site by typing suitable titles and messages.Wow! how lucky I am !
Good try, Lataji. I am sure you caught the spirit
of it. This is a good exercise to your daughter!
Try two different names, one in one way and
another in a different way. This works out best
when the two names have the same number of letters
or differ by one or two. However, MOM is not an
ambigram. The word itself has perfect symmetry
with a vertical mirror in the centre. As time
permits, I'll send a few of mine. But they must
be placed under a different section as they are
not really rangolis. All rangolis have ten and
only ten rotational symmetries.
Rajamma Madam , Butterflies, knows all my guest , including yourself also , it will give way .......... so make it.. ( visit buttflies park )
Lata , Butterflies loves flowers , they know its gives them Honey , no probs you can smack ....
