Happy New Year!

One more year has been wasted, happily by me, as another is about to start. I am always curious as to who chose the first of January as the new year. It has no significance, zilch. Christmas is over, and two or three days prior to it was the winter solstice. Even according to the orthodox Christian calendar, their Christmas is on the sixth of January. May be it is somebody's birthday, not that of Jesus who was born a week earlier or later as you wish. Actually when was he born? Is it in the year 4 BC? We have the calendar full of new years according to different customs and faiths. Even in the Hindu calendar, there is no one new year, even though most occur around the vernal equinox. But it really does not matter. I would have wasted my old year any way, whatever the calendar system is :-) We all want to enjoy the new year's eve and usher the new year in our own way. Greetings to all of you, wherever you are, from New Zealnd to Hawai. May the new year add brightness to your days and richness to your life. My new year resolution, waste one more year! Happy New year! - mOhana P.S. The picture has symmetric patterns with the number of the new year in Roman and Hindu numerals, surrounded by ambigrams of Lovejoy and Hopeace. Enjoy!

Thank you! I can't wait to waste another year, and I won't feel guilty about it too (takes the pressure off since I'm not the only one wasting it) :)
