Judy, Seeing your kolam i can remember a nursery rhyme, Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. Roses are pink, violets are blue, grass is green and so are you. but here there are so many colourful roses.in that rhyme they had only one red rose.

Yes Lakshmi the roses were so fresh the day I bought them and you wont believe they remained fresh for almost 10 days as we had a very cool climate in November with rains on and off. Vinci I too remember when we were in school there were only those light and dark pink roses (paneer) but the coloured ones were found only in bouquets given to VIPs.. Later they used to be available in flower shops that started springing up in a few places. We used to be awestruck by looking at the different colours then. I once remember as a kid when we visited my grandma's place in Cochin she had a neighbour who used to rent her house for film shooting, this lady had a collection of rose plants in her big balcony and you know how many colours she had?? Well there were 50 different colours and sizes. This was something I remember being terribly surprised about because I never heard of more than 4 to 5 colours then... These days with grafting and the likes there are more and more new colours coming into the market day by day.. Hehe Sudha now we will have to change the colours in the song too... Great to know you are back with a bang Lata - I too did not visit the site for a very long time as I was a bit busy with some work at home - we have a wedding in the family. My sister in law's son is getting engaged next week so you can imagine how it is at home.. I will start uploading my kolams now one by one after I get the go ahead from you, I think there are still some in your bank waiting to be uploaded - just let me know how many are there so I can start uploading accordingly (take your time though).. Thank you Brindha. (I promise to go to Koyambedu market soon and click pictures of all the flowers there and upload for all to see and enjoy)
