The site looks damn cool. I came know about this site as I was searching for kolam patterns in the net. It's truly amazing!! I was thrilled to share it with couple of my other friends. I would like to know more about Ms.Lata, who is behind this concept and attempt.

Beautiful attempt!!

I got interested in kolams when I was about 7 or 8yrs old. My grandma (who is going to be 70yrs old) still follows the same routine of creating intricate patterns of kolams every morning back in south India(TN).

I had the opportunity to watch and learn from her while growing up, but my girls here in California are not that lucky....and hence ...the website. And I would like to tell you that I've received a lot of emails from non-indians too, who are learning about kolams and making an attempt at drawing them thro this website.

Enough already about me!

Now that the Navratri/Diwali season is upon us, I a m working on a couple of designs based on that theme. If you have any ideas related with kolams or these cultural events, feel free to share with us.
