Hi all, I'm new to this.
Currently I'm doing a project on Kolam and Rangoli however my teacher wants me to do a comparison between the Rangoli( Indian folk art) to a another similar type of art....Known as the Mexican beaded art. However I don't see Mexican art has any similarities with the Rangoli as in the drawings with flour, rice powder eg. Can anyone tell me whether is there any art that also do drawings on the floor with these materials? thanks.. :D

Comaprison with Rangoli

Hi,

You've brought up an interesting topic to research on. Unfoutunately I can't say anything related to this since I'm unaware of this type of Mexican art.

However... I "googled" for the Mexican art and found some interesting patterns to look at. Take a look at :

The only thing that I find similar in this type of art and the rangoli is the idea of "symmetry"... I'm just giving my 2 cents. I can't wait to find out more :?

I'm hoping you'd share some related info once your project is over... :D

Thanks.
