What is the difference between Rangoli and kolam. I am participating a rangoli competition in Singapore. Can the Rangoli can also dots or should it be only a free hand drawing. Also can we decorate the rangoli with floors also ?
Please post me some good rangoli for the competition.
Rangoli Vs Kolam
The term "Rangoli" is known more globally than "kolam". Kolam is a tamil word for rangoli and doesn't have to be colored...whereas rangolis are always made colored. Rangoli can be made with or without dots and can be a freestyle drawing. It can be colored with flours, lentils, flowers, sand or anything that you want to decorate with.
